Life's a bowl of cherries...

Each week, there are a number of small farmer's markets in the area we're in (known as LA's South Bay). Last week Annie and I checked out the Manhatten Beach Farmer's Market and today we walked just two blocks down from our apartment to check out the one held every Thursday in Redondo Beach.

Talk about a great location for a Farmer's Market!

We couldn't resist buying a container of cherries and dug in right away. My only problem with buying cherries for Annie is I just can't get them pitted fast enough for her. She's a BIG fan.

I was also happy to see cherimoyas... something I've only had once before in Hawaii. They resemble artichokes but have a creamy, white interior that tastes a lot like vanilla. Very yummy!!

Finally, I just had to share this picture of one of the trees at this beachfront park. Isn't it awesome? It really hasn't been that windy the times we've visited - but evidently it's been windy enough over the years to do this...

We're headed out for San Diego for the weekend.... See you on Monday! :)

  1. Love those kind of markets - I remember seeing and tasting cherimoyas for the first and only time when we were in Hawaii too! Have a great weekend!

  4. I was also wondering about the photography on this blog. Everything looks amazing and the photographs are capturing a wonderful trip. I just remembered you suggested I buy the same camera as you. So now I have photograph envy, as well as trip envy. My photos do not look like this. It must be user error again.
It looks like your whole family is having a ball and I am so happy for you. I really appreciate being able to keep up with you. I bet your family is loving this.

  5. I actually did take all these pictures. Terri busted me on the Pinkberry pic - that's the only one I pulled from the Google images. It's all about a good camera... and luck... and good lighting... and the photo class I've been taking doesn't hurt either.
