Annie does Disneyland

We're back from our 'vacation within a vacation' and had a WONDERFUL time! I must admit that I had wondered if Annie might be too young for Disney - but I'm happy to have been completely wrong. She had a ball - and we had a ball seeing it all through her eyes.


Our first stop was the Dumbo ride in Fantasyland (a ride I remember loving at Disney World when I was a kid). As we waited in line and Annie caught her first glimpse of the elephants flying, she immediately did her sign for 'more'. This sign was repeated frequently throughout the day. She loved riding Dumbo (and was saying 'Bumbo' before we landed), the carousel, the Storybook Land Canal Boats, and It's a Small World (her eyes in that were HUGE... I realized that it must be like a book coming to life).


The morning whizzed by way too fast and it was soon time to head back to our hotel for lunch and a nap. Afterwards, we headed back into Disneyland (staying across the street worked out perfectly) and stumbled right onto the parade on Main Street. I'd never seen one of Disney's parades and was quite impressed. Annie was absolutely mesmerized and didn't take her eyes off the singers, dancers or characters until they were out of sight.






After the parade, we headed into Mickey's 'Toon Town' - a newer section geared towards smaller kids with all sorts of bright colors and attactions. Here Annie found what was probably her favorite attraction of the day... a curb that was just the right height for her to practice walking down and back up (over and over again). Who needs flying elephants??


While we were in Toon Town, we also got to visit with Minnie Mouse. Annie was intrigued while we were waiting in line, but not quite sure what to make of her once we got up close.


After a riding the train around the park, having dinner in Critter Country and an ice cream cone on Main Street, it was time to head out. I think it's safe to say that a good time was had by all....
